Mary Anne MacLeod: From a Small Scottish Village to the American Dream
Mary Anne MacLeod was born on May 10, 1912, in the tiny village of Tong on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. She was the youngest of ten children born to Malcolm and Mary MacLeod. The couple married on January 11, 1936, and went on to raise five children: Maryanne Trump Barry, Fred Trump Jr., Elizabeth Trump Grau, Donald Trump, and Robert Trump. Their family became well known in New York, where Fred expanded his real estate business while Mary Anne focused on raising their children and supporting charitable causes.
Throughout her life, Mary Anne remained proud of her Scottish heritage while embracing her life in the United States.
